Live In The Present

Live each moment completely,
and the future will take care of itself.
Fully enjoy the wonder and beauty
of each instant.
Parmahansa Yogananda

I have been living in the moment. I have returned to taking my Tylenol 3s (one a day when I just can't take the constant nag of pain under my arm pits. I drain my pouches three times and day and keep a record of how much is coming out of each side. My left side, the cancer side, has increased it's outflow. Apparently, I need not be concerned. Hmmm. I'll see what the plastic surgeon says on Friday. There is quite a bit of bruising on my left side and of course the tight, gripping pain which limits my movement is unending, but durable. My back pain, due to my hunched shoulders, is soft enough to ignore.
So how am I you ask? Well I think I am doing what everyone else would do. I can walk and I can reach so far and I can do so much. This is what I do. Today I reached into the microwave without stepping up on a stool. It felt good to do regular household duties.
Betty, my mother-in-law continues to chauffeur me and the kids to our destinations. We greatly appreciate her patients and efforts. She has adapted very well to BC roads.

just finished reading your complete blog to date & have to say I admire your courage both for the way you have made your ordeal pulic & the way you have kept positive in the face of what has to be often very depressing circumstances. In comparison my own experience has been a walk in the park.I wish you well & hope you will come thru this ordeal with the same positive outlook that you have shown throughout it to date.
