What if I had only 5 years? Well these years would be the best 5 years of my marriage and with my kids. It would be a celebration everyday.
1. I would simplify life; slow down, shop less, volunteer and give back.
2. I would free fall from an airplane at a ridiculous height.
3. I would pull my kids out of school and go do something that is crazy/fun.
4. I would like to stand on the edge of the Grand Canyon holding hands with my family
5. I would trek in south Asia to some mountain villages and monasteries
6. I would paint an abstract with thick goopy paint that would cover a wall (not a Pollock)
7. Try very hard to laugh out loud a lot.
5 comments:
1. I wouldn't do anymore housework (wait a minute, looking around my home it looks like I am already well on my way with that one)
2. I would go on more long nature walks with my family and dog
3. I would write a letter for each of my children telling them how wonderful they are and how much I love them
4. One day a month each person in the family would get a day that they could call the shots, ie. what is for dinner, what we will do for the day, etc.
5. Travel More
6. I would say thank you more often.
I think I will give it all a try.
I forgot one.
7. Swim with dolphins
Well, this is my second attempt? First of all thank you for setting up this blog. I appreciate your willingness to share. It help me to keep you in my thoughts and prayers and it makes everything more real to me.
I identify with your list. I was kinda thinking that you should ....like ...write a country song about this....oh...na...wait a minute ...didn' Tim McGraw already do that? Are you sure you don't want ot ride a bull named Fumanchu? I will try and stay to 5 things.
1. Be sweeter to my family.
2. Live in the present . (As a teacher I am constantly planning for the next thing and that rubs off in life)
3. Take our kids to Dinseyland
4. Run through meadows wearing a pretty summer dress.
5. Hike Sentinal Pass with our kids and boot ski down.
Well, here's hoping this gets added to the comments. From your Skeet Shootin Sidekick
I would celebrate more. So now the question is - why wait - start now. I will look for purposeful, meaningful things to celebrate and not wait until it's that special birthday or event.
See this is what the philosophy of the Eternal Now teaches us.....Live always in the Now as if each moment is the only moment. Of course not very practical in terms of financial security and other such prosaic matters, but on the whole, I think a good way to live. I would improve on the philosophy only by one addendum -- live always in the Now knowing you are leaving some footprint on another's future.
